Ninjutsu 1 - Death by Dismemberment
Spin around, swinging your sickle at everything within reach. Hold down the Ninjutsu button after activation to continue spinning, during which you can move freely. Successfully hitting enemies will allow you to recover health equal to the amount of damage you inflict.
This is a Ninjutsu that can sweep up and attack enemies at close range. Because you're safe from being hit out of the Ninjutsu–barring select attacks–we recommend using it to control the field in hectic situations, such as when you need to take on large enemy groups, protect your base camp, and more! Make use of the healing effect to stay on the front line and apply pressure to your foes! That being said, you'll find it difficult to dodge enemy long-range attacks while this Ninjutsu is active, and it also has the downside of leaving you wide open if you miss your attack. You can stack up to 7 different physical ability buffs with each successful use. The buffs are as follows:
1st time - Movement speed boost
2nd time - Action speed boost
3rd time - Attack evasion boost
4th time - Attack power boost
5th time - Defense boost
6th time - Health limit boost + recovery effect
7th time - Ninjutsu & Substitution cooldown time reduction
Thanks to the stacking effect of this Ninjutsu, the more you use it in battle, the stronger you'll get. At the maximum, you'll become a truly formidable foe! Of course, as previously stated, these buffs all reset if you're knocked out, so remember to exercise some self-preservation when rampaging about the front lines! Use this alongside defensive or recovery Ninjutsu such as Earth Style: Petrifying Jutsu to facilitate the acquisition and retention of buff effects. It goes without saying that it's an obvious match for Death by Dismemberment as well!
Secret Technique - Curse Jutsu: Death Possession Blood

What's more, you can curse enemies by hitting them with the special tool or normal attacks at close range, then perform a ritual on them via an additional input. While the Secret Technique is active, you can also curse enemies by using rush Ninjutsu like Demon Hunter or Flying Thrust: Heavenly Hand Power that deal damage to enemies with striking or weapon attacks. Use other close range attacks to curse as many enemies as possible before activating the ritual!
Activating the ritual will cause cursed enemies to have damage dealt to you reflected onto them.
Completing the ritual involves impaling yourself with the special weapon, leaving you in a near-death state, but in exchange, all cursed enemies will be knocked out.
This is a powerful Secret Technique, but if you leave the area before the ritual is complete, the curse will be dispelled. Remember to exercise discretion when starting the Curse Jutsu: Death Possession Blood ritual!

Next, we'll be giving a brief explanation on the balance adjustments we've made for the 2.63 update and what our intentions behind them were.
・Broad Updates to Attack, Ranged, and Healing Type Weapons
For this batch of adjustments, we have changed up ranged attacks with most Attack and Healing Type weapons so that they now bring you closer to your target. Also, for Ranged Type Weapons, we have given range attacks to Kunai and Hidden Cloud Short Sword, which did not have them up to now.
(Range attacks here refers to forward-charging attacks that occur when executing a normal attack at long range.)
We wanted to make it easier than it is currently to chase after enemies who are running away in Shinobi Striker. At the moment, it is possible to evade most normal attacks through timed dodging or making use of movement around the terrain. This in and of itself is proper technique. But due to the lack of counterplay, it has become common practice in 1v1 battles to disengage and wait out Ninjutsu and substitution cooldowns.
It is harder to get away from enemy attacks after these adjustments, but we believe this will foster more chances for tactical play, such as choosing to press the attack when an enemy has used up their resources.
In addition, with the goal of creating better balance between weaponry, some weapons have received buffs. For example, the strong attacks of Claw Edge "Kurama" have received a range boost and you'll find it easier to perform follow-up combos. We've also decreased the interval before the strong attacks for Sealed Blade "Totsuka Blade" can be canceled into other actions.
While on the other hand, we've nerfed weapons like Scientific Ninja Tool "Valiant Threads" and War Fan "Dreaming Moon," which were far too easy to land hits with for the high amount of damage they do, along with the Scientific Ninja Tool: Skyward Lightning which had some attacks that were extremely difficult to dodge.
There are various other adjustments being made, and you'll be able to read the details at a later date via the in-game patch notes!
Weapons received the majority of the adjustments this time around, but we will continue to monitor the game state for further Ninja Tool, Ninjutsu, and Secret Technique adjustments.

In the previous Developers' Letter, we spoke of our plans of further optimizing the game.
After the 2.62 update in February that implemented improvements to data loading at the start of and during battles, we have confirmed an improvement to stability compared to before the update.
Also, in this update, we are attempting to greatly reduce the amount of data required to load during battle with the intent of further stabilizing the game.
We will continue to focus on optimization in order to facilitate a more enjoyable experience going forward.
