ANIME

The war has ended, but in the Village Hidden in the Leaves, Danzo and the retired Third Hokage Hiruzen are at an impasse as to who should be the next Hokage. Danzo nominates Orochimaru in an effort to seize power, but Hiruzen's strong support leads to Minato Namikaze, Kakashi's teacher, being chosen instead. Meanwhile, Kakashi is devastated by the loss of Obito at the battle of Kannabi Bridge, followed by Rin's death at his own hands. Tormented by nightmares and unable to focus on his missions, Kakashi spirals deeper into despair.
